A community that supports its schools contributes to the excellence of both. In southwestern New Mexico and the Gila region, this is especially true. The Gila Conservation Education Center, a consortium of community organizations, concentrates and mobilizes efforts in this regard. GCEC's programs support all the schools in the area, including:

  • Cobre Consolidated Schools
  • Silver Consolidated Schools
  • Aldo Leopold High School
  • Down to Earth School
  • Meadowhark Erdkinder
  • Agape Community School
  • Calvary Christian Academy
  • Guadalupe Montessori School
  • Silver Christian Academy
  • Western New Mexico University
  • Several home school organizations
